1. Information We Collect

To provide you with the Go Elsewhere experience, we collect the following types of information:

  • Profile Information: Name, age, gender, photographs, biography, registered phone number, and meetup preferences.
  • Location Data: As a core function of our service, we require access to your device's GPS to determine your location to facilitate nearby plan discovery and meetups.
  • Device & Usage Data: IP address, device ID, operating system, and platform analytics (via Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics).
  • Content & Chat: Chat messages and user-generated plans, stored securely to provide the service and monitor for Trust & Safety violations.

2. How We Use Your Data

We utilize your data strictly to operate and improve the platform, specifically to:

  • Facilitate matchmaking and display nearby public meetup plans.
  • Enforce our Terms of Service, prevent fraud, and verify identities via OTP.
  • Deliver push notifications regarding messages and activity requests.
  • Debug technical issues and improve platform stability.

3. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. Your information is shared only under strict circumstances:

  • With Other Users: Your public profile data, approximate distance, and public plans are visible to others on the platform.
  • Service Providers: We share necessary data with trusted third-party providers (e.g., cloud hosting, SMS gateway, Firebase) bound by confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal Requirements: We will disclose information when legally compelled by court orders or to investigate safety threats.

4. Account & Data Deletion

We respect your privacy and give you full ownership of your data. You have the right to request the deletion of your account and all associated personal information at any time.

How to Delete Your Account In-App:

  1. Open the Go Elsewhere mobile app and go to the Home Screen.
  2. Tap the Three Dots Menu (⋮) in the top navigation bar.
  3. Select Account Settings.
  4. Tap Delete Account and confirm your decision.

Web / External Deletion Requests:

If you cannot access the mobile application, you may request account deletion by emailing us at support@goelsewhere.in with the subject line Account Deletion Request. Please include your registered phone number so we can verify your account ownership.

30-Day Grace Period & Data Removal:

When you initiate an account deletion request, your account will be scheduled for permanent deletion in 30 days. During this 30-day window:

  • Your profile, active plans, and messages will immediately be hidden from other users.
  • Once the 30-day window expires, all associated profile data, phone numbers, plans, and chat records will be permanently purged from our database and cannot be recovered.

Important Note on Subscriptions: Deleting your account or uninstalling the app does not automatically cancel active paid subscriptions. Please cancel any recurring subscriptions directly through your Google Play Store account settings.
